TikTok Campaign Setup
Section 1: Objective
The first step is to select “Advanced create” and set the advertising goal as “Website conversions” - this step will allow to add the “Instant Page” middle step as we will see soon.
In the settings, give a campaign name and enable the campaign budget. Set a daily budget of 150,00 € and press “Continue”.
Section 2: Settings
Choose a name for your ad group and select “TikTok Instant Page” as optimization location.
In the placements, select TikTok only and deselect “Global App Bundle” and “Pangle”.
If you do not know your audience, it is recommended to have a broad targeting with all genders and ages.
Thus, no actions are needed with “Audience” and “Interests & Behaviors”.
As stated before, set a daily budget of € 150.00 and a make sure to set a start time and end time to run the ad group.
In TikTok it’s highly recommended to run the campaign for 2 weeks, all day.
Yet, keep the bid strategy as “Maximum delivery”.
Section 3: Ad
Name your ad accordingly and keep in mind that each ad is a variation in Geeklab.
For “Identity” you can use your own account or create a custom identity.
Customise the rest of your ad as you like and do not forget to add a text.
As a call to action, choose “Download”.
The next step is to create your custom page (also known as “Instant Page”) from scratch or upload an existing one from your library.
We recommend having a “Download” button and choose your campaign tracking link as a destination URL.
The button style should reflect the store you are testing, as in the example.
The final step is the TikTok events tracking. In this case we select the “Website events” and choose the pixel we previously created.
No other actions are needed after this step. If you have created all the ads you need, you can click on “Submit”.
Some tips for success
Portrait video is optimal due to its alignment with the natural display format of TikTok content.
Make sure to capture the viewer's attention within the initial 2 seconds of the video.
Keep your video duration to 15 seconds or less. While it's not a strict requirement, shorter videos are preferred.
Ensure that your key elements are centered and clearly visible within TikTok's UI frame.
Background music is important. TikTok is a sound-on app where sound is enabled by default.
Include a CTA.
